Why We Need Police

In the United States most intelligent people
believe that we all need Law and Order.
Most Laws have been written to protect us.

Most Laws need to be kept in Order, that
is where the Police come in. We can't have
​Laws without someway to enforce them.

POLICE OFFICERS / DEPARTMENTS
As far back as I can remember, I have always had  the most highest respect for police officers and of course highway patrol officers and to this day. With that said, I also believe that these officers need to held to a higher standard. What I mean by that is that if these officers are to have the power to enforce laws then their actions need to be above the law. How's this?

I have an idea that I think is simple. What if officers who broke laws were to face double fines or double sentencing for their wrongs?
