Jollibee recently introduced their new Black Forest Sundae. Made-up of creamy vanilla soft ice cream, it is drizzled with dark chocolate and cherry syrups, with matching chunks of brownies, chocolate chips and a quartered cherry as toppings. The new sundae completes the all chocolate sundae trio line-up, which also includes the all-time Chocolate Sundae Classic and Rocky road Brownie Sundae. Jollibee never really fails to know what their customers’ really wanted.

New Revelations on HIV

Here in the US , about 1.2 million people are living with HIV according to the data of Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Forty thousand new infections per year and about 15,000 Americans die of AIDS each year. Alarming? Here’s more: a new method of tracking HIV infections has revealed that about 40% more people each year are infected with HIV virus that previously believed. The government should do something to prevent the spread of this virus. And as individuals, let us do our share by being a responsible and health-conscious individual.

Who says one cannot create something beautiful out of rags? Well, Filipino students say that they can indeed create rags into a very creative work of art. These students showed their emerging passion for fashion in a fashion show competition dubbed as “Retaso”, which means “Pieces of Cloth” in English. The competition was much like of the reality show “Project Runway”, and the designers were given the challenge to create casual, couture and eco-friendly dresses out of old clothes and used fabrics. A lot of students participated in the said competition and the fortunate ones who won the competition were able to bring home a bagful of incentives and recognition.

Worry is unpredictable at the least, counterproductive at the worst. I was taught since I started schooling that we should not worry about material possessions because it could have a way of possessing us. It could be a cause of undue cares which make life colorless and joyless. That to worry is useless because it can not change the future, and it’s harmful because there are sufficient troubles already in the present.

I did not realized how much I had taken for granted my mother until when I had my own baby. Loving, and taking care for my baby is very challenging, or should I say, also very trying? Day by day, my little girl would be so unpredictable, that I would always think of how difficult it must have been for my mother to take care of four children.

Child’s Play

After a surprise storm blanketed the Middle East with snow, a newspaper photo showed four armed men smiling as they built a snowman outside the battered walls of a military headquarters. The wintry weather also caused a protest to be canceled and delayed a debate over parliamentary matters of pressing importance. Men wearing long robes and women in traditional black dresses and headscarves were seen playing in the snow. There’s something about the snow that brings out the child in all of us.
